Many businesses are utilizing custom business card printing as their choice of effective marketing material to further strengthen their position in the industry. It is no surprise therefore that a lot of greeting card printing companies are getting a lot of profits in the process.
Greetings cards are indeed good materials to let your target clients and existing customers to know that you care enough to send the very best.
However, no matter how exciting or impressive your greeting card design done by a professional custom greeting card printing company, nothing beats a greeting card that is design and handcrafted personally by the giver. Even when it seems online cards are the norm these days, there is still nothing like the experience of actually holding on to a custom greeting card that you know have been lovingly designed and reproduced by that someone special. The traditional way of sending and receiving a greeting card that is carefully crafted and mailed by a loved one is still more endearing than any greeting card printed by an online printer or sent in the internet.
But there’s also a big difference in designing and writing a greeting card for marketing and business. Creating a greeting card for a loved one or friend is easier as writing the message can include incorporating a shared joke or an intimate family anecdote. A private joke or a punch line can easily make the recipient of your custom greeting card printing smile, laugh and appreciate your card.
It is also very easy to make your recipients nostalgic and remember treasured memories, which can be very welcome indeed for them. Writing greeting cards to these people is very special yet uncomplicated that you won’t even consider it a task that you need to accomplish. Simply writing your message and designing your card reflects you, your recipient’s qualities, and a memory that both of you share.
On the other hand, handcrafting a custom greeting card for your business is a totally different matter. This time around, the recipients of your cards speak about your business, your company and what you can do for your target clients. Your message is not just your message, but that of each one in your company. It is the message that would get everyone represented in your greeting card. Hence, it is very important that you be careful with how you design and craft your greeting card. It would be something that would represent your organization to your recipients, thus, make you remembered by them or ignored in the process.
So you really have to carefully plan what you have to say in your greeting card printing. Before you begin putting ink on paper, ask yourself this: what do you want to say to your target recipients? What do you want to convey to the one receiving your greeting card? Indeed, having success from your custom greeting card printing starts with knowing full well the message that you would want to communicate to your target audience.
Now that you’ve determined what you want to say to your target recipients, it’s time for you to sit down and write your message. Don’t stick with the first idea that you’ve written down. Experiment and play with different messages and style of relaying your subject. You can even get everyone involved in the process. The more ideas you get, the better your message will be to encapsulate the entire organization’s good wishes for your target clients.
Finally, be sure to keep everything simple, concise and straightforward. If you really want your recipients to get your message, make it easy for them to understand it fast.

Question by victoria: Creating Holiday Cards: Tips? Design, Photography, Cost?
Hi,
I just finished a graphic design program. I also own a petcare business.
I would like to start a side business offering my petcare clients design work. Specifically, I would like to offer to design clients’ holidays cards for friends and family.
What is the best way to go about this?
I am a decent photographer. I also am a decent designer.
So, should I buy blank car stock and design and print out 3-4 templates of designs, each with an attached photograph taped in the middle? If I use a printing shop, they will charge me an arm and a leg to print only 4 samples. But I can’t print a full bleed with printer at home, not to mention the quality wouldn’t be great.
Or do I just find cute pre-designed Christmas cards with a photo spot and only worry about taking the photograph? But I would assume that most clients would want a personalized message inside. And how much money could I really make if I didn’t design it? But the outside printing would already be done, so that would save some money, maybe?
So , what do you suggest?
Has anyone done this on a small scale? I have 15 clients and I would guess that 7-8 of them will take me up on the holiday card design. I am assuming that each client will order 50-60 cards, at least.
What do I charge? What is the most cost efficient way to do this?
