Company e cards, what they are, what they are used for and what they can do for your business:

E cards are a growing trend. Lots of people send them to friends and family as a way to keep in touch and send messages at special times. They’re environmentally friendly and cheap way to send out special messages. Nowadays e cards are more high quality than the ones you probably experienced a few years ago and they are usually animated, have music and you can usually add a personal message to them for the added touch.

Many businesses have started to use e cards as a way to communicate with their audience since e-marketing responses began drop. E-marketers are having to find ways of diversifying their contact with their audience as people are much more clued up on marketing techniques nowadays and have shown that they will stop responding to similar forms of marketing if exhausted. Social media has been a good way for businesses to start re-engaging with their audience again and discover what the real people who buy their products, like, respond to, dislike etc. but allot more has been learnt from social media that has led companies to the card world.

Not every company is using social media yet but most people have realised that engaging their customers in some form of social media is the key to driving sales. The reason for this is because it seems more human. Using the ‘like’ features on most social media sites shows the rest of their friendship network your companies profile and we all know how strong word of mouth is. Some brands have been engaging their customers in competitions, conversations, asking opinions and have also been commenting on other things that they like or rate, making the customer feel like they are talking to ‘someone’. If done well, customers ‘buy into’ your opinions, brand and authority and your product sales go hand in hand with this.

This leads me to corporate cards and the reason they work to re-engage a customer.

So the last time you emailed a customer what did it look like? What was the reason for the contact? Was it to sell in some way?

I bet the answer is yes. Now think of an e card. You send it to wish someone well and it says nothing but ‘Merry Christmas from ecards for business Ltd’ with a link to your website. It has an entertaining animation (or sometimes includes a game) and last but not least – it does not clutter up desk space or recycling bins, saying alot about your own brands eco-friendly approach. And its not selling a thing.

This says more about how much you value your customers than you think, and the best thing about it is that it is so cheap to do. Depending on the sophistication of the business ecard the price can range from anything as little as £70 up to £1000. Even at the most expensive, this is still not that much money, especially when considering how much money was wasted on waning direct mail campaigns over the last few years and getting zero response…

A lot of companies wait until Christmas to send an ecard, but you can send any sort of e card to your customers. If you collect their birth date, then why not send them a birthday e card each year? Send them a thank you card each time they buy from you and a ‘new home’ card when they call you to change there address details.

Make them feel as though the whole world revolves around them, because the truth is, your business does!

Teddington, Middlesex. United Kingdom. 07/20/11 – With more and more companies opting to send out corporate e-cards at Christmas rather than their paper ancestors, Katies Cards has announced a cheaper and more engaging way to do this. These environmentally friendly, animated counter parts are engaging and entertaining customers as well as providing positive PR and are much cheaper to produce than printed versions. Organising company annual Christmas card can be a time consuming and expensive task and sometimes leave the person organising it wondering whether anyone actually displays the card or most of them end up in the rubbish bin. Some companies feel the money spent on sending paper cards out to customers and clients is money down the drain, however, if done in the right way, sending a Christmas message can be a powerful way to re-engage with an audience.

Sending a business e card is cheaper, more engaging and environmentally friendly

Many companies are opting for a more environmentally friendly way of communicating with their customers by sending out their Christmas message in the form of a business Christmas e-card and are finding the results speak for themselves.

Not only are corporate e-cards environmentally friendly, but they are cheaper to produce, more engaging and entertaining as well as having a professional look and feel. Sending out a corporate Christmas ecard tells customers that a company they use care’s about the environment. But before there are things to remember before organising a business e card:

  • The tone of the message – how personal can this card be without removing professionality?
  • Who will it be sent to? Previous customers and clients only or will it be sent to potential customers as well?
  • How should recipients be addressed? Will titles be used or their name – engaging them more? Think about the company tone of voice and the usual style of communication
  • What will customers get from this message?

Once the tone has been decided, go ahead and get started!

Katies Cards have helped many large and small companies with organising Christmas e cards and can help with any query or problem that you want to discuss. We have something to suit all budgets; choose from static, animated or bespoke designs all of which will incorporate a company logo, message and a weblink.

Here are some excellent points about why sending Holiday cards from your small business makes a lot of sense.

Article by Linda Cress Dowdy

As a small business, you may not feel sending holiday cards to your customers and business associates this year is worth the expenditure. You may be wrong! Even in these tough economic times, a holiday card is good business.

A seasonal greeting is your way of thanking your clientele for their business and a great way to stay in touch and encourage new business. You are forming lasting partnerships that take your business to another level, one of personal friendship. You may have heard the term, “social networking.” This is one form of networking that doesn’t have to cost a bunch of money but certainly can generate valuable rewards.

Here are 5 reasons why you should send business holiday cards this year:

1. Social Networking: Developing your client base is an important part of your business growth. By networking, you can expand your list of customers and secure loyalty from those you already do business with. By sending a holiday greeting card, you are keeping in touch and moving your business relationship to a more personal level. It also gives you a reason to reach out to those you may have not contacted in awhile. Keep your contact list current and this small expenditure will pay for itself and more in the years ahead.

2. Make it personal: You’ve seen the holiday cards with a company name imprinted on it and sent in an envelope with a pre-addressed label stuck on the front. This was a start, but go one better by personalizing your message. Do buy imprinted cards, as they are relatively inexpensive and do look professional, but add something in your handwriting to make it more valuable. Jot a short note and hand address the envelope. The recipient will feel they are special as you took the time to make their card personal.

3. Extra effort: Holiday wishes sent via email or voice mail are one thing, but sending a card through the mail that is opened and shared says your business associate or customer is special and that their business partnership is important. Be sensitive to religious differences when selecting your card or send a Thanksgiving or Happy New Years card instead. When you add custom imprinting and your own personalization, this form of advertising is money well spent.

4. Business is good: Show that your business is doing well and thriving. Send an impressive card. Greeting cards come in all sorts of designs with features like embossing and foil stamping. They are easy to order online from companies like CardsDirect.com and come with your return address imprinted on the envelope. Customers like to do business with companies they feel are successful. A nice card can look much more expensive then it actually is for a perceived value that speaks volumes when promoting your small business.

5. Thank You: A holiday card not only sends season’s greetings, but says Thank You for your business this past year. It also strengthens your business partnerships for the year ahead. Your customer and business associates are now extended family members! Like a family member, you may want to consider sending a photo greeting card with a picture of your office team family printed on it, especially if the majority of your business is conducted via phone or email. This is an opportunity build loyalty and trust with a minimal investment.

Holiday cards are not as expensive as you may think, especially when purchased in bulk. Select nice, high quality cards with personalized imprints and start or continue a tradition that will bring economic rewards to your small business for years to come.
